Bhowali (भवाली) is a small hilly town and a municipal board in the heart of Nainital (नैनीताल) District in the state of Uttarakhand (उत्तराखण्ड) also referred as Devbhumi, India.
Bhowali is well known town for producing best quality of fresh fruits like peaches, apple, apricot, strawberries and pulms etc.. that are then exported to number of places.
Bhowali is located at 29.38°N 79.52°E. It has an average elevation of 1,654 metres (5,426 feet). Bhowali is serve as a gateway for different places of Kamoun (कुमाऊँ) division like Almora (अल्मोड़ा) and Bageshwar (बागेश्वर) and mainly for the travellers travelling from the Haldwani (हल्द्वानी) route. There are various lakes in negibor of Bhowal like Bhimtal, Sat tal (सातताल), Naukuchiyatal (नौकुचियाताल), Nal Damyanti Tal, Sukha Tal (सूखाताल), and Khurpa Tal (खुरपाताल / खुर्पाताल) . Bhowali is a excellent hill station. It is 1706 meters above sea level and 11 km away from Nainital. This is a road connecting all the adjoining hill stations from Nainital. Bhowali is recognized for its beauty scenic grandeur and as a hub of hill fruit producer or we can say that bhowali is famous among tourist as fruit orchards, Bhowali is also famous for its T.B. sanatorium which was established in 1912, where Kamala Nehru (wife of Jawahar Lal Nehru) also stayed for a while.
Bhowali is an important road junction to neighbouring hill stations, like Nainital, Bhimtal, Mukteshwar (मुक्तेश्वर), Ranikhet (रानीखेत) and Almora (अल्मोड़ा).
