Kathgodam considered as the Gateway of Kamoun is a small beautiful town located in the foothill of himalaya in district nainital of state Uttarakhand. The name Kathgodam refers to Kath means “wood” and Godam means “depot”, timber depot. Kathgodam came into importance immediately in 19th century after the railway track is continued here, after it arrived haldwani in 1884. kathgodam railway station is the last station of the Kamoun and the main station for visiting Nainital, Bhimtal and other hilly areas.
