Pawalgarh is a tiger reserve (पवलगढ़)that is located in the tarai-bhabhar forests of Ramnagar (रामनगर) Forest Division, is also referred as ‘Bachelor of Pawalgarh’. It covered an area upto 49.41 square kilometres. The region is drained by the Kosi and Dabka rivers, while the Baur river flows to the east. It is a conservative reserve under the landscape of Corbett. There is very adequate agriculture and habitat in this area. The habitat of Pawalgarh (पवलगढ़) consists of a combination of hills and plains, with a mixed habitat comprising of moist and dry Sal and mixed forests, terai grasslands and riverine forest. the area of Pawalgarh contain large variety of species , herbs and medicine plants that grow naturally the ecosystem of Pawalgarh is rich in bio diversity of flora and fauna, including tiger, elephant and over 350 species of birds, including the iconic Great Slaty Woodpecker. Chhoi, Kyari, Sherpur, Sonjala, Pawalgarh, Mankantpur and Sherpur are some of the villages surrounding Pawalgarh (पवलगढ़) Conservation Reserve.
